Exploring the Myth of Transcendence: The Artistic Role of Space Vehicles and Apparatuses in the Realm of the Immaterial.
Bio
Sarah Breton is an artist based in Southern Maine. Breton has long been inspired by themes ranging from the metaphysical to ideas about perception(s). This usually manifests in her work through the format of science fictional themes; more specifically space vehicles and apparatuses. Sarah’s works compound on the two words, science and fiction, to create spaces where the viewer can enter or leave themselves of their own accord. This is achieved by (yet not limited to) materials such as broken circuitry; audio, video, paint and paneling, as well as written word. Her wish is to render tangible a shared inner dimension that we all have.
