Reptilians

My thesis is a conceptual series of interpretations of songs. I have always been intrigued by the visuals complimenting music, specifically in album art and music videos. For this project I decided to interpret the songs from STRFKR’s album “Reptilians.” Each song relates to the common theme of death and the end of the world. Despite its dark message the songs are quite lighthearted and colorful, inspiring the overall look for these pieces. Each illustration depicts my own interpretation of the lyrics or sounds in each song, telling a vague story that accompanies it.

Bio

My name is Oliver Marcotte and I am an illustrator from Maine. Much of my work is very colorful and moderately surreal. I enjoy drawing graphic imagery and anything organic. When I’m not drawing I like to be outside or listening to music.
