Bare Bones
I create swim and activewear that is inspired by different bodies of water, and the surrounding landscapes because my work is designed to be worn outside and in nature. By giving back to the Earth through sustainable practices, and through connections to the environment my work has come full circle. I not only design prints inspired by bodies of water, I also create garments that consider the various shapes and sizes of a woman's body with different cuts and silhouettes that complement rather than hide skin.Through screen printing, digital printing, and dyeing, my designs are focused on creating bright, colorful, and dynamic looks that are layered with different knit fabrics to construct contrasting pieces. These separates allow the wearer to pick and choose how they want to look in their desired activity. Nature is ever changing, and I intend to reflect that through my motifs as well as the garments themselves. Finding the perfect suit, or piece of clothing, that allows one to be active, can often be a challenge. My intention is to make swimwear with the woman’s body in mind first and, in doing this, I hope to encourage other women to be bold, and find comfort in my designs.
