My Body, My Mind, My Practice
The main force behind my art is an exploration of self, my childhood and the complicated relationship with my family. Upon reflection of memories, I have been influenced to create domestic rooms or objects where I transform trauma into a three dimensional scene or tableau. Like many other artists, my practice is constructed by my emotional and physical state, of which is currently heightened while being pregnant. My work is shifting rapidly, similar to my body and mind throughout my pregnancy. Through this work, I am focusing on the bodily changes I encounter, question my relationship to motherhood, and attempt to accurately portray and embody pregnancy through object.Bio
