Conceptual Game Trailer

Video games for me have always been the epitome of interactive storytelling. It's a way to have your audience experience crafted worlds and settings that can emerge to be uniquely personal depending on how or when a person plays the game. It was because of this that I fell in love with the medium, and continue to strive and create what had ignited the artistic spark in me. My short thesis film showcases 30 seconds of a conceptual beat-em up game dubbed City of Eden. It follows the main character, Tara, as she attempts to rescue her father from the clutches of a dubious organization. Inspired by the myriad of Super Nintendo games and the pixel art medium which I've grown to love, this clip encapsulates the creative process of designing characters to editing the scenes for the finalized version.

Bio

My name is Isaiah Dennis and I'm an easygoing but passionate animator specializing in 2D animation. Located in Connecticut, I primarily focus on storyboarding and animatics, and am eager to work on group projects whether it be in games or animation. Editing is where my true passion lies, finding the correct timing for character actions and seeing gags come together will always be my favorite part of creating my work. I am also an avid writer and like to combine that with my affinity for video editing to create visually intriguing video essays.
