You Are Invited (Is Anyone Home?)

You are invited to look through the books on the shelf
with curiosity and care
with a group or by yourself.
Sit on the stool beside the table if you wish to be there.

The walls are off limit,
but feel free to stare,
whether it’s for an hour or just a minute.
Something new can be found anywhere

It’s all made by hand
and old printing machines,
sometimes unplanned,
the same over and over until it becomes routine.

Loose imagery, as if just a suggestion,
the story in its entirety not shown,
begs the question
Is Anyone Home?


You Are Invited (Is Anyone Home?) utilizes a variety of techniques, including lithography, screenprinting, letterpress printing, and textile printing.

Bio

Andy Jones will earn a BFA in Printmaking with a minor in Art History. For the past three years, they have worked as an Assistant Studio Technician in the Printmaking Department, maintaining the studio and providing technical assistance. Jones is continuing their printmaking practice as a fellow at Pickwick Independent Press in Portland, Maine.
